Welcome

Georgie Raggett was born in England in 1989. At the age of 6, she started piano lessons, and enjoyed improvising not long after this. Aged 8, she began learning the flute, and at 11, the bassoon.

She won a music scholarship to her secondary school, where she continued to write and perform her own songs. In 2005, Georgie went to a friends house to record a few songs with two friends from school and it was only at this point that she started to sing her own songs.
Following some work experience after her GCSE’s with Richard Blackford, an award-winning composer and conductor for TV and film, Georgie was put in contact with the composer and producer, Glenn Keiles. She proceeded to record a 4-track cd, Time, and later went on to record a further 7 songs with Glenn.

In 2007, Georgie was commissioned to write some music for a production of King Edward II, put on by the Rococo Players, a Gloucester-based drama group. The play was performed at Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire and received excellent reviews. She then travelled to Southern Africa for 3 months, and to Mexico and Cuba for a further 6 weeks. Georgie now studies music at The University of Manchester and will be studying at the University of Illinois from January to June in 2010.
